Feeding & Swallowing

We support families navigating a variety of feeding concerns, including:

  • Difficulty with breast and/or bottle feeding

  • Difficulty transitioning to solids or cup drinking

  • Gagging, vomiting, or frequent spitting out of food

  • Texture aversions and limited food variety

  • Slow progress with chewing and oral motor skills

  • Weight gain or nutritional concerns

  • Tethered oral tissues (tongue/lip ties), including pre- and post-release care

Our approach addresses physical, sensory, and emotional components of feeding, while equipping caregivers with strategies to use outside of sessions.

Myofunctional Therapy

Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) impact functions like breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speech.

Therapy may benefit those experiencing:

  • Mouth breathing or snoring

  • Sleep-disordered breathing

  • Jaw tension or clenching

  • Low tongue posture or messy eating

  • Lisp or articulation difficulties

  • Recurrent orthodontic concerns

  • Oral habits (thumb sucking/pacifier use elimination programs available)

We work to improve function and balance through individualized therapy for all ages, including adults. For children under 4, therapy is considered myo-informed feeding therapy.

We provide comprehensive care for families navigating tongue and lip tie concerns, including:

  • Assessment and therapy to address feeding or oral motor challenges before release

  • Collaboration with dentists and other providers to determine if a release is warranted

  • Guidance and exercises to prepare the mouth and muscles for optimal healing

  • Post-release therapy to prevent reattachment and support improved function

  • Strategies to make the process less overwhelming for both child and caregiver

Our approach is holistic and collaborative, focusing on building the skills needed before a release, supporting families through the procedure, and maximizing outcomes afterward. We aim to make every step clear, confident, and approachable.
